Our subconscious holds the key to how our mind and body react. When we experience emotional discomfort or pain, our tension is then picked up by our nervous system, transferring that stress to our brain. Because of our innate ability to create habits, our body has recognized our past reactions and knows how to respond anytime we feel future stress, anxiety, pain, or fear.

 

However when we learn to breathe and pause before we respond to emotional or physical pain, we’re able to rewire the habits that live deep in our muscle tissue, allowing us to create new healthier patterns and reset the way our nervous system reacts to situations.

 

Without a breath and body connection we’ll always be out of balance, causing ourselves constant stress. When we unlearn habits and learn how to transition with breath movement connections, we’ll feel solid and strong. And not just physically, but emotionally. When we feel solid, nothing can rattle us. Having our body and breath working together as one unit is the empowerment you can receive from holistic yoga.
